Why is this role important?

Role Mandate:

Reporting to the Senior Director, Market Corporate Finance, the Director provides financial support for the portfolio of Corporate Stores. Responsibilities include the following:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Act as business partner to provide financial expertise with respect to strategic business opportunities while also ensuring accurate planning and strategizing around financial processes.  (Includes maintenance of financial models).
  • Interact with and support Corporate Store leadership hierarchy including VP, District Manager and Store Management to review financial performance as needed
  • Ensure business unit adheres to all corporate and financial policies while optimizing efficiency and simplifying the routine processes
  • Take leadership role in budgeting & forecasting processes
  • Preparation of senior management financial presentations and reporting packages
  • Provide guidance and direction in forecasts and project financial implications of proposed changes and initiatives within division
  • Work alongside BU management team to increase efficiencies, identify improvement opportunities and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvements in business and systems processes.
  • Ad hoc projects and analysis


  • University degree in Business or Finance related discipline
  • Successful completion of a professional accounting designation (CMA, CGA or CA)
  • Superior analytical skills with the ability to provide accurate forecasts and business insights
  • Excellent computer skills, specifically with Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other departments and build strong working relationships, combined with an approachable disposition
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Enthusiastic learner with demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Proactive individual with the ability to effectively manage various projects concurrently
  • 5-7 years business external financial reporting experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills with proven ability to work well with people and deliver objectives on time and within budget
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Previous experience in amalgamating financial and non-financial analyses and relaying insights and conclusions to business operations is a must.
  • Awareness of key financial indicators and how they impact business results is essential.
  • Success in simplifying and drawing conclusions using large amounts of data is critical.
  • Attention to detail, ability to prioritize and make judgments, and a sense of urgency will be important to the candidate’s success.
  • Must display a great deal of poise and composure, and be comfortable interacting with high-ranking executives within the business and presenting to them.
  • Proactive individual, able to effectively manage various projects simultaneously without any loss of quality.
  • Possess extensive management experience, and will exhibit a broad capacity for developing his/her staff’s skills and abilities.
