CanadianNational Railway Company (CN) is looking for a highly motivated person tofulfill a full-time Intern, Domestic Intermodal Market Analyst position in Brampton, Ontario for summer 2022. Job Summary

The Intern, Domestic Intermodal Market Analyst is responsible for developing a deep understanding of CN’s customer needs within the organization’s competitive environment through market research and data analytics to support the Domestic Intermodal Marketing team in expanding our market share. The role represents an opportunity to learn about the Domestic Intermodal business and gain insights into CN’s Consumer Products Supply Chain as goods move across North America from production to final consumer. Moreover, the incumbent gains an understanding of pricing, contract management, revenue tracking, and creating supply chain solutions as they relate to intermodal transportation.

Major Responsibilities

·       Administer specific pricing and marketing activities, including contract and price application

·       Generate reports and collaborate in analysis

·       Assess market and modal competition, costs, service requirements, and equipment availability

·       Undertake research related to corridor pricing structure and modal competition

·       Participate in cross-functioning learning across CN’s business units

Requirements

·       Ability to translate market information and trends into business decisions

·       Ability to identify key issues that affect CN’s competitive position

·       Initiative, sound judgment, and accountability

·       Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills

·       Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

·       Knowledge of reporting software Tableau*

·       Ability to prioritize in an efficient manner

Education

·       Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, or equivalent field

*Any experience/education/skills/knowledge for these above would be considered as an asset
