Sr. Enterprise Architect

The Enterprise Architecture team is seeking a Senior Enterprise Architect to provide architectural support for several key domains within Digital and Media channels focused on our Systems of Engagement, Systems of Intelligence and various technology platforms.

Actual domain assignment will be determined at time of selection.

As internal subject matter experts, Enterprise Architects are responsible for tracking technical and business trends, assessing their impact, and leveraging this information to build solutions, mitigate risks, and plan the retirement and transition of technologies at the end of their lifecycle.

The Enterprise Architect demonstrates technical leadership in project meetings, at governance body committees, and in vendor selection initiatives (RFI/RFPs).

This position reports to the Director, Digital & Media Architecture at the Brampton Campus.

What you will be doing:
– Provide leadership and expertise in the development of standards, architectural governance, design patterns, and practices
– Work with domain architects on the Enterprise Architecture team and Solution Architects in delivery teams on the implementation of an enterprise architecture roadmap for Digital and Media
– Partner with various business stakeholders and technology leaders within the Digital , Media and Marketing channels to translate program requirements into scalable technical solutions and system designs
– Collaborate with other members of the delivery team to evaluate solutions and gain consensus on technical solutions
– Work in partnership with the delivery solution architects to design and deliver according to both the end-to-end design and the long term technical strategy/architecture for Digital and Media channel initiatives
– Lead in architectural reviews of software, infrastructure, data and other relevant architecture domains
– Verifying the implementation of software, ensuring the delivered systems are consistent with the agreed long term architectural roadmaps for technology domains within the Digital and Media channels
– Responsible for ensuring the assigned programs follow Enterprise Architectural strategy and processes.

– Responsible for ensuring alignment of solutions with Enterprise Architecture principles and guidelines
– Work in partnership with program and project managers within the IT Department.

– Responsible for the completeness of all program architectural, and design documentation.

– Publish regular updates to domain-specific Target Architectures.

– Produce and present materials to senior staff.

– Publish all documents to the EA repository and maintain/enhance said repository.

What you have:
– Minimum of 10 years experience in technology, with at least 8 years covering Digital domains
– Core understanding of modern front-end, back-end and cloud development stacks
– AWS and/or Azure solution architect certification is desired
– Understanding of common architecture frameworks and information models.

Preference given to candidates familiar with TM Forum Frameworx (TAM, SID, ETOM)
– Exposure and experience with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning
– Experience with data streaming technologies, microservices and event-based architectures
– Strong understanding of GraphQL, content management systems, web analytics suites and marketing suites
– Ability to assess rapidly changing technologies and apply them to business needs.

– Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience required.

– Preference given to candidates with a background in telecommunications
– Advanced knowledge of business/organization, industry best practices, infrastructure, architecture and technology in related areas from an architectural solutions perspective.

– Thorough understanding of the UML diagrams typically employed by enterprise and solution architects.

– Can demonstrate a good understanding of architectural design patterns.

– Experience with EA tools.

Preference to candidates with hands-on either Sparx EA, iServer, Lucid Chart and Confluence Cloud
– Ability to balance tactical needs with longer-term goals.

– Ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders.

– Ability to author and present information in a clear and concise manner commensurate with the audience’s technical level.

– Proven ability to problem solve, think critically and resolve complex technical/design issues
