Dynacare is looking for Director, Pathology Operations to join our team in Brampton, ON.

This role reports to Vice President, Operations  

 The Director, Pathology Operations, shall support the achievement of Vice President, Operations’ strategic and operational plans in accordance to the Dynacare values.

 Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Responsible for a focused approach to the management of Anatomical Pathology Laboratory Operations in a manner that achieves the organizational goals by building systems and solutions that ensures business growth and profitability by supporting the commitment to a fulfilling work environment
  • Establish, monitor, measure and report on laboratory performance metrics, analyze and identify issues impacting operational performance and establish initiatives for continuous improvement to ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency
  • Drive improvements in laboratory operations in the areas of cost, quality and service Lead the team to achieve customer service standards for both quality and turnaround measures in a continually changing environment, including problem identification and resolution
  • Promote a performance culture by regularly identifying and assessing talent and provide appropriate support and guidance in training and developing employees
  • Strategically plan and identify for the laboratory the necessary budget requirements, the provision of leading-edge technology, exceptional service to client groups, and the
  • Build a culture of collaboration and develop relationships with all internal stakeholders  
  • Take a lead role in the region for coordinating organizational efforts in a manner that aligns with Dynacare, mission, vision and values  
  • Represent the Dynacare brand by collaborating with customers, government and community organizations  
  • Recommend Pathology Operations strategies, policies, standards, systems and practices  
  • Monitor Operations strategies, policies, standards and practices  
  • Provide expertise and information on Pathology Operations needs related to Information Systems  
  • Coordinate cross-functional projects as assigned by the Vice President, Operations  
  • Provide advice to improve Anatomical Pathology product and service offerings  
  • Provide advice on Pathology point of sale matters including patient payments based on patient and staff feedback

  • Provide products and services intelligence and advice from contacts with patients, customers and physicians  

 Knowledge, Education and Experience 

  • Knowledge of external factors that impact operations (new trends, developments, legislation and technology with respect to the health care industry and related discipline)  
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies/ Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt  
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety  
  • Knowledge of customer service and development of programs to support building both internal and external relationships  
  • Knowledge of Health Care System and funding models  
  • MLT/BSc an asset (Registered MLT)  
  • University Degree in Business, Engineering or Science
