Dynacare is looking for a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our Microbiology team in Brampton, Ontario. Position will be Full time, Permanent. Microbiology operates on a 24-hour schedule, Mon-Fri and weekends. Hours of work are 75 hrs. bi-weekly; for this position, shift is 8am – 4pm. Staff are required to work weekends as needed by the department. Shifts and working hours may vary according to departmental needs.

Responsibilities: 

• Ensuring sample identification is correct and specimen requirements are met according to established procedures
• Ensuring quality control standards are maintained, investigating missing samples and performing routine maintenance on laboratory equipment
• Recording, interpreting and/or approving test results
• Maintaining accuracy of appropriate documents
• Troubleshooting of clinical assays and equipment

Must have: 

• CMLTO Registration as a practicing Medical Laboratory Technologist in good standing
• Demonstrated working knowledge with Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Solid ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide recommendations for resolution
• Experience in Microbiology laboratory

Nice to have:

• A demonstrated ability to work independently, apply sound decision-making principles and self-manage in fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills required to succeed in a collaborative working environment
• Some experience in Mycology, Panther System, WASPLab, Vitek II and Vitek MS, Roche 6800.
