Project Manager

The Project Management Office (PMO) within Dynacare is looking for a Project Manager (PM) who will be able to independently manage several strategic projects concurrently. The successful candidate will collaborate with various teams to ensure a consistent approach to project management.

The Project Manager will be responsible to adhere to project management best practices. With responsibility to plan, track, and monitor the project, they will be responsbile for managing scope expectations, and resource alignment. The successful candidate will be able to consistently forecast project delivery, decrease project delays, and deliver optimal financial and schedule project results.

The Project Manager will demonstrate the confidence to manage stakeholder expectations, and delivery of decisions from all levels of the business. They will document and monitor the project’s objectives, oversee quality control throughout its life cycle, and support the business to drive successful business outcomes.

What you will be doing:

  • Manage the project life cycle for small to large enterprise projects.
  • Build and develop the project team to ensure maximum performance, providing purpose, direction, and motivation.
  • Effective communication skills
  • Lead projects from initiation, requirements definition through deployment and handover to Operational Support.
  • Preparation of schedules, Charters/scope statements, budget estimations, and project implementation plans
  • Coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring projects remain within scope, schedule, and defined budgets, in collaboration with project staff from various functional departments.
  • Analyze project progress and, when necessary, adapt scope, timelines, and costs to ensure that project team adheres to project requirements.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate client stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes.
  • Facilitate project team and Executive meetings.
  • Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, risks, and critical path deliverables.
  • Monitor project team performance and provide performance reviews when requested.
  • Provide regular project updates to executive sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Actively manage project risks and associated mitigations.
  • Ensure collaborative decision making and positive working relationships within the project team and stakeholder group.

What you will bring:

  • A minimum of 7 years project management experience
  • University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • PMP (through PMI) or Prince2 certified
  • Proficiency in French is an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication, and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of tools including (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project, Visio)
  • Aptitude for Project Portfolio Tools (e.g. Smartsheet) is an asset
  • Solid understanding of all tools and techniques for planning, organizing, estimating, monitoring and controlling projects

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid – Remote working with ability to visit the office on occasion
  • Medical laboratory or computer room environment
  • Some project activities are performed during off hours including evenings and weekends
  • Some travel may be required
