We are hiring for skilled, reliable and knowledgeable Senior Building Operator to join our building maintenance team. Our team looks after 3 office locations in an exciting Toronto and GTA area. This position is based out of 1 Presidents Choice Circle Brampton

You will be responsible for all upkeep and repair of building components including general maintenance of equipment, including green spaces. Identify and categorize equipment need for repairs by priority. Respond to clients’ maintenance requests including tenant services requests.

To be an effective Building Operator, you will be skilled and hard-working, with outstanding problem-solving abilities. Skillful hands, good physical stamina. As a Building Technician, you oversee the operations of facility to ensure that it’s electrical and mechanical equipment, as well as heating and cooling, are working properly

Have a good understanding of building mechanical components and equipment, able to troubleshoot building mechanical components and strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the facility operations to ensure that its electrical and mechanical equipment is in good operating condition
  • BAS systems and software management
  • Perform Basic repairs on office environmental equipment
  • Inspecting the building for safety hazards and regulation violations
  • Oversee the safety equipment operations and conduct inspections
  • Perform and manage scheduled Preventive Maintenance
  • Perform basic repair tasks including painting and filling crevices
  • Basic plumbing issues
  • Repair equipment including but not limited to locks, equipment and/or appliances
  • Verify repairs completed by others, verify these are completed and to company standards.
  • Manage and schedule contracted maintenance repairs.
  • Conduct performance assessments of all company equipment including appliances, such as refrigerators, microwaves, stoves, ovens and coffee makers.
  • Respond to user’s service requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Execute tenant furniture and auditorium set ups
  • Travel will be required between offices buildings occasionally, valid driver’s license required
  • As these building are in use during the day afternoon/night work will be required periodically (Scheduled and Unscheduled)
  • On call duties are required for this position based on rolling schedule

Requirements:

  • Complete HVAC apprenticeship & Certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification required
  • Graduates of Class I Operator levels of the Building Environmental Systems Program
  • Certified BAS qualifications (optional)
  • A minimum of 5 years’ working experience in a similar role
  • Solid experience with electrical, plumbing and general repairs
  • Health and safety, certificates and other accreditation are an asset
  • Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment
  • Extremely organized with good communication skills
  • Detail-orientated with an aptitude for problem-solving
