The Developer, Digital Learning reports to the Manager, Digital Learning and is responsible for the development and maintenance of online courses and digital assets. The Developer will apply established development standards, strategies, adult learning standard methodologies throughout each stage of the development lifecycle. Working with other members of the digital learning team, subject matter experts and clients, the developer ensures that digital assets are developed to the highest standard, engage learners and meet the needs of the business.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with SMEs, Learning Partners and members of the Digital Learning team
  • Recommend digital learning solutions that are right-sized and achieve desired learning outcomes
  • Create, build, develop, and maintain digital assets that are engaging, improve the learner experience, and meet learning objectives
  • Ensure learning content is inclusive and AODA compliant
  • Maintain high quality standards through a robust quality assurance process at each stage of the development lifecycle
  • Manage each development project using project management and industry standard processes
  • Deliver projects on time and on budget
  • Stay current on new technologies and innovation; counsel clients on how these can be applied appropriately to learning projects

Skills

  • 3+ years digital learning development experience
  • Exposure to learning management systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and prioritization skills
  • Able to work optimally with others
  • Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality
  • Attention to detail
  • Adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience using a variety of development tools including Articulate Storyline, Rise, motion graphic software, audio editing tools and others as appropriate
