The Space Planning Manager plays an important role in the Loblaw business process by working with the category teams to develop merchandise planograms that reflect the category, banner, and corporate strategies. Each Space Planning Manager must develop a strong understanding of general merchandising principles as well as category-specific knowledge and insights for their assigned departments. By working collaboratively with the category teams, vendors and Supply Chain, the Managers will ensure that planogram layouts will enable profitable sales growth in order to meet all financial targets.
What you'll do:
Space Planning: Build Planograms for Major, Minor, and Seasonal releases as well as Special Projects as needed
Quality – Ensure portfolio of planograms maintains the highest quality standards, using established guardrails for each banner
Project Management: Facilitate the management of the overall planogramming process, quarterbacking the communication and tracking of the planogram progression, trouble shooting issues as they arise, straight through to issue resolution
Process Improvements: Assist with a broad range of planned and ad hoc business and systems projects in order to improve the merchandising processes
Utilizing the knowledge that the Space Planning Manager has on category specific planograms, provide guidance and advice on optimal adjacencies of categories across a floor layout
Post Mortem analysis of a category release (profitability and store execution)
In-store audits – Review of the Planogram execution at the store level
What you'll need:
Space Planning Experience: May include working knowledge of JDA, Apollo, Spaceman, Galleria or other space planning software
High requirement to be technically proficient and able to manipulate: Excel & Power Point, Access Database Experience would be considered an asset
Excellent interpersonal skills, with good communication skills, both oral and written
Experience working with cross-functional teams and building consensus across the business
Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail
Capable of working in a fast paced, deadline and detail-oriented environment
Willingness to conduct store visits to evaluate planogram effectiveness
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in order to meet established deadlines
Be self motivated, with a commitment to continuous learning
Key Measures (Performance indicators):
Ability to accurately build planograms in a timely manner that reflect the overall category strategy and meet financial targets
Store compliance to new planogram releases
Strong working relationship with category teams and other business areas
