The Store Set up Manager will be responsible for implementing the end-to-end process of merchandising, marketing and operations for renovations, conversions and new stores.
Accountabilities:
- Represent the Company in a professional manner at all times. Act as a liaison between the company and our customers and/or community.
- Address issues with vendors, co-workers and employees with honesty, integrity and in a timely manner and improve services through feedback from customers.
- Lead a group of Merchandising Clerk's. Able to give clear direction and always be physically ready to assist with replenishment, relocating, facing merchandise and responsible for the training and development of all colleagues on merchandising activities.
- Responsible for human resources functions including but not limited to hiring & termination; support and development; training; scheduling; managing expenses; payroll; time sheets; out of town accommodations; management of employee issues; performance/disciplinary issues.
- Empower, coach, counsel and develop staff to instill teamwork, create high employee morale and encourage top performers.
- Implement merchandising programs including ownership for maintenance, communication and execution. Ensure that the merchandising plans are relative to existing departments, downsizing areas; clearly communicated in advance at the phasing meeting to facilitate store execution.
- Physically able to complete and implement planograms on their own, installing shelves of different sizes to accurate heights and or racking and filling sections up with merchandise in a timely manner on their own.
- Prepared to work various shift patterns based on the project scope. Travel to distant locations and be ready to work on their own or with a limited staffed team to complete projects as needed.
- Wear PPE as per project. (hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe boots and masks if requires. Compliance to all LRE and Health & Safety Standards.
- Must complete walks every morning with Manager or Store Owner for clean hand over. Ensure that there is a clean and safe environment during a renovation for our customers and ensure that the project is operated in a safe manner at all times.
- Demonstrate ability to build execution plans/phasing plans to ensure project is kept on schedule. Give contractors clear direction of what is needed to be completed every night.
- Adhere to the collective agreement in all dealings with employees if applicable.
- Ensure that the training plans for new/ renovated stores are being adhered to by the store management team.
- Ensure accurate labels and pricing in place for store opening: coordinate and organize all back-room stock accurately and efficiently
- Ability to read and modify blue prints and merchandising layouts.
- Coordination and facilitation of phasing and site meetings with key partners. Ensure that all timelines for each project are met and adhered to.
Role Requirements:
- Proven experience in a store with strong operational knowledge
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- High organizational skills and ability to multi task
- Proven creativity in display merchandising
- Able to lift 35 to 50lbs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced sometimes-unpredictable environment
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including days, nights, overnights, weekends and holidays
- Extensive travel and weekends away during the year
