Payroll Administrator


This is a Full-time position in Brampton, ON posted July 8, 2019.

Ref ID: 05240-0011025303 Classification: Payroll Processor Compensation: $27.00 to $30.00 per hour Our client requires a Payroll Administrator to assist them on a contract to full-time basis.

As the Payroll Administrator your duties will include the following: observe and respect the confidentiality of payroll information; process bi-weekly payroll using Quadrant Software while ensuring the accuracy and efficiency and maintain Quadrant?s system in all kinds of the areas; accurately input on Quadrant Software, new hires, terminations, salary and rate changes, internal promotions, wellness allowance, assign positions, attached deductions and benefits etc.; review timesheets for all staff and follow up as needed; ensure timesheets are filed accurately on the monthly basis and monitor timesheets summary for accuracy; reconcile Green Shield statements in details to ensure all the deductions are made correctly based on the policy on monthly basis and ensure the reconciliation is approved and singed on the monthly basis by Finance Manager; ensure all the staff compensation codes are assigned correctly based on their position and the department and perform quarterly review to identify any discrepancy; reconcile Receiver General statement of account in a timely manner; prepare accurate monthly pension report for Sunlife and HOOPP for review by Finance Manager and complete the quarterly reconciliation which should be reviewed by Finance Manager; run payroll reports and save to the shared drive, publish pay statements to QHRnet, prepare and distribute T4?s on time and ensure all the changes for new rates are updated correctly based on the official documents, such as CPP, EI (reduced), EHT and other rates (benefits deduction rates) take effective on the correct starting date within Quadrant.

The Payroll Administrator will also be responsible for preparing ROE accurately by the deadlines, complete online submission successfully, and save all the ROE records in the shared drive; reconciling and adjusting CPP, EI, EHT to ensure the correct remittances; preparing and sending out quarterly report for Lieu time and Vacation time to staff, and performing quarterly payout of overtime hours based on approved requests; maintaining and providing Spreadsheet for Wellness Plan and On Call Pay by saving the file in the share drive on the monthly basis; producing Annual United Way Payroll Deduction and reconciliation report; resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information; providing timely responses to the staff for all kinds of payroll related inquires in a kind manner including any inquires and instructions required for QSS.

Experience and knowledge of Canada-wide payroll legislation and regulations and active enrollment or completion of the Payroll Compliance Practitioner Program is mandatory.

Strong computer skills, including experience with HRIS and payroll systems, and Microsoft Office with keen attention to detail and professionalism at all times is required.

Previous experience working in a non-profit organization would be considered an asset.

The ability to take ownership of duties, prioritize tasks and previous exposure utilizing Quadrant software are mandatory requirements.
