Provide a high level of service and ongoing support to managers, leaders, and employees on the interpretation and administration of all Plastcoat Human Resources practices, policies and procedures, adhering to the Magna Employee Charter guidelines at all times
• Act as a primary contact for general employee inquiries and maintain high shop floor visibility, adjusting hours accordingly to ensure coverage of all shifts as appropriate
• Responsible for the administration of hourly and salaried payroll using ADP Workforce Now while meeting deadlines and achieving a high level of accuracy
• Process payroll changes following established company policies
• Adjust hours into ADP Workforce Now time and attendance system
• Maintain employee attendance records and notify managers and Area/Team Leaders, as appropriate, of potential and on-going concerns
• Track and report on: headcount, overtime, attendance, hours worked and other measurable required
• Work cooperatively and effectively with Area/ Team Leaders and department managers on payroll policies, procedures and issues
• Investigate and follow up in a timely manner on any payroll discrepancies presented by employees or their Area / Team Leader
• Provide employees with employment letters and other employee verifications as requested
• Maintain accurate employee information with respect to ADP, PeopleSoft and General Ledger account coding
• Process remittances such as WSIB, RSP and garnishees according to established schedules
• Review all payroll deduction remittances on a monthly basis and follow up on any discrepancies
• Prepare monthly insurance premium report
• Perform year-end reconciliations including T4, EHT, WSIB
• Process annual DPSP
• Keep updated on legislative and corporate changes relating to payroll and HR
• Administer STA and LTD benefit programs in accordance with established guidelines, and bring issues that require attention to the H.R. Manager as appropriate
• Maintain confidentiality of all employee information
• Perform payroll and benefits orientation for new hires
• Administer the employee benefits program including enrollment, changes and maintenance of employee files
• Work with production management to determine weekly labour plan and assignment of employees
• Assist the Human Resources Team with Administrative support as required
• Provide day to day assistance to the Human Resources Team
• Maintain the HRIS (PeopleSoft) System, regularly updating employee information, ensuring all information is kept current and providing Corporate Employee Relations with timely and accurate reports within deadlines
• Maintain regular shop floor presence and respond to inquiries within the guidelines of C48
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all information obtained, written or verbal, within the HR Department
• Maintain a professional customer service-oriented manner within the company and support the corporate image as per Human Resources departmental objectives and company policies
• Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations, promoting safety in the workplace
• Comply with the requirements of C-TPAT/PIP
• Conduct business in an ethical manner in compliance with the Magna Code of Conduct
• Report all accidents/incidents and unsafe conditions/behavior
• Adhere to applicable quality systems and IATF-16949 standards
• Adhere to and promote the Employee Charter and work within the rules, regulations and guidelines of the Plastcoat Employee Handbook
• Participate in and support Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Maintain work area in accordance with the principles of 5S and operate daily within these standards
• Ensure work area is kept neat and organized
• Perform other duties as required
