The Sr. Manager, Compensation leads all aspects of the compensation activities for a group of functions or business units and plans, develops, and implements compensation programs, policies, and procedures. This individual is responsible for ensuring that compensation programs are consistently crafted and delivered in compliance with company policies and government regulations for all of the Store Support business groups and that individual compensation decisions are made with full knowledge of situation and impact. The individual will actively partner with other Human Resources functions in order to deliver on compensation priorities.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide day-to-day and strategic leadership for all compensation activities
  • Act as a consultant and provide daily strategic and tactical recommendations
  • Work in partnership with business leaders to review and develop compensation programs and practices, and address potential concerns while realizing current opportunities
  • Present material to business leaders to address future issues and work in partnership to develop plans to mitigate risk or leverage opportunity
  • Lead internal equity and external compensation reviews for all clients from analysis through to payroll execution
  • Support the Central Services team with the Merit and STIP cycle, as the need arises, to ensure program is delivered to expectations
  • Lead the design, annual review and testing of any client specific incentive plans and pay programs
  • Participate in organization design and job design initiatives for client group
  • Participate in the job evaluation process as subject matter / function expert

What You'll Need:

  • Minimum 5 years compensation experience for a large company, crafting and administering compensation programs
  • Solid understanding of the Hay Job Evaluation System and other point rating evaluation systems
  • Post-secondary education in the areas of business or human resources
  • Positive relationship management with client facing experience
  • Strong collaborating skills: articulate with shown success in negotiating and influencing solutions and building rapport with all collaborators
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • A high level of proficiency with MS Excel, and a general level of proficiency with other MS Office applications
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and results driven
  • Strategic and tactical problem solver
  • Built and orchestrated work processes
  • Financial statement proficiency and analytic mentality for Data Analysis
  • Effective leadership experience working in teams
  • Familiarity with HR generalist functions and/or Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) and/or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designations are considered assets
  • Retail industry experience is also an asset
