As a key function within the organization the ‘Risk Advisory’ team partners closely with business to provide an independent perspective and risk insights that support the company’s strategic goals.    

Reporting to the ‘Senior Director, Technology & Analytics Risk Advisory’, the ‘Senior Manager, Technology & Analytics Risk Advisory’ is accountable for the execution of the technology portfolio through assurance and advisory work, ensuring IT activities are consistent with the Company’s risk appetite and strategic priorities. You will join a dedicated and motivated team with exposure to multiple industries within the Loblaw enterprise including retail, healthcare, real estate, and banking.

What you will do

  • Oversee the planning and timely execution of Technology assurance and advisory reviews, including IT processes, applications, major projects and infrastructure
  • Assist senior management with the development of the assurance plan and strategy in line with business priorities
  • Accountable for the preparation of insightful and impactful assurance reports including identification of key risk areas and providing strong actionable recommendations to management
  • Risk based mind-set to assess risk related to IT, with a focus on prioritizing areas that matter the most
  • Identify and assist in implementing opportunities for data analytics and technology automation to continuously improve the audit assurance process
  • Train, empower, hire, and develop staff, including overseeing annual performance evaluations and career development
  • Maintain mitigation strategies and perform regular follow up and reporting on remediation action plans agreed to by management
  • Support the Risk Advisory team in pursuing operational excellence including engaging with the team on key team initiatives and process improvements
  • Collaborate with the technology team, internal lines of defense and external auditors to facilitate compliance, assurance, and advisory activities
  • Support integrated assurance reviews by collaborating with the operational assurance teams and providing subject matter expertise related to technology

What we are looking for

  • Undergraduate degree in an Information Technology related field such as IT Systems, Computer Science, IT Management or Data Analytics.
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation. The preferred candidate may also have one or more of the following designations: CIA, CISSP, CISM or CPA
  • Minimum 4 years of experience including management roles in IT Audit, IT consulting practice and/or technology, with a strong risk-based audit foundation
  • The candidate must have strong technical knowledge of IT platforms, operating systems, network services, security, privacy and business applications
  • Knowledge of Audit assurance, governance and control frameworks including COBIT, ISF, NIST and ISO, Service Organization Controls (SOC) Reporting standards (e.g. CSAE 3416, Section 5025, AT 101) sufficient to interpret and apply IT risk and control concepts
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrate strong planning, project management and organizational skills
  • Experience auditing large enterprise IT implementations with knowledge of project methodologies (Agile, Iterative etc.) including project risks and controls
  • Previous experience with the use of data analytics applications
  • Ability to work independently while leveraging resources and empowering the team to complete the work effectively and efficiently
  • Strong problem solving skills with demonstrated creative, innovative and strategic thinking
  • Ability to manage and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
