Specialist, Learning Development

Why is this role important?

As a Learning Specialist you will work with the Learning Partners to support the design, development, maintenance and delivery of learner centric solutions based on instructional design best practices and adult learning principles to engage and motivate learners. This position will also ensure training is readily available and accessible to end users and monitored to ensure effectiveness and currency.

Responsibilities:

  • Support a team of learning professionals to deliver learner centric solutions that meet business objectives
  • Support all stages of the learning lifecycle including learning strategy, curriculum design, content development, delivery support, measurement and maintenance
  • Ensure learning solutions demonstrate best practices in adult learning principles, 70/20/10 framework
  • Ensure quality and adherence to standards are maintained across areas of responsibility/programs
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Learning Partners, HRBPs and HR COE communities
  • Evaluate and measure effectiveness of training programs and methodologies
  • Identify, engage and partner with vendors and service providers to deliver learning solutions that are to standard and meet business objectives
  • Monitor individual deliverables and provide relevant and timely reporting on status, progress and established L&D KPIs

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education with specialization in adult education, human resources, organizational development or relevant experience
  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in human resources and/or learning, with a focus on training, talent development or adult learning
  • Strong communication, project management, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships at all levels of the business
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with rapid eLearning development tools (Articulate Storyline, Rise 360)
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Experience with LMS administration an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
