Why is this role important?

Role Mandate:
The focus of this role is to support the Senior Director of the Lean COE leading the development of the internal Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Program utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies, the role will focus on evaluating improving and expanding the current model offered within the business which includes the curriculum, mentoring programs and certification process. Other responsibilities will include supporting the Lean Operating model deployment, Leading Value Stream workshops and opportunity assessment exercises with the business.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Perform Value Stream analysis to strategically plan out and prioritize projects within the business.
  • Own GB curriculum and training material
  • Provide training and Mentor GB candidates to certification
  • Meet and plan GB activities and projects with sponsors and stakeholders with Sr Director
  • Conduct Kaizen and prototype Workshops including facilitation of training sessions using the concepts of the 8 Lean wastes, creation of summary reports and executive summaries on data analysis findings and complete follow up on tasks from workshop takeaways
  • Perform end-to-end Process Design and improvement using core Lean Six Sigma tools

Core Competencies:

  • Strong project and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing projects
  • Ability to work with a high degree of detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment constantly meeting deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in order to effectively source information, obtain approvals, build relationships, and provide sufficient influence to achieve success
  • Confident in presenting to executives.
  • Creative problem solver and strategic thinker with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to think strategically and able switch to tactical application
  • Strong Facilitation and Coaching ability

Role Requirements:

  • Well versed in Lean Six Sigma with knowledge of Design Thinking and Agile, able to deliver concepts and principles, Minimum Black Belt Certification required.
  • Post-Secondary Education in Computer Science or Engineering
  • 7-10 years of practical Process Engineering / Improvement experience utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies
  • Knowledgeable in Minitab
  • Ability to evaluate and analyze complex data and determine appropriate course of action towards objectives.
  • Proficient at both Written and Oral Communication skills
  • Advanced skills of MS Office applications, in particular WORD, EXCEL and POWERPOINT
  • Highly developed technical writing skills
  • Minimum 3 years of project management experience
