Role Overview:

The Senior Manager, HR Projects and Strategy is responsible for effectively handling projects and initiatives from design, development to delivery that directly support the Human Resources strategy for Grocery Retail and Store Support (Head office) business units The incumbent works directly with Human Resources Business Partners, COE teams and multiple areas within the core businesses and levels within the enterprise to deliver outstanding project results.

Accountabilities:

  • Act as a strategic thought partner to Director HR Projects & Strategy, HRBP Teams and Business Units
  • Handle various projects through all stages of a typical project life cycle
  • Support and prepare detailed project charters and corresponding plans, lead/prioritize project team meetings, direct and coordinate project activities in order to ensure deliverables are achieved on time and within budget
  • Review project plans on a regular basis, prepare and submit weekly status reports, define context and limitations, implement project deliverables and communicate to Project Steering Committee and Project Committee on a regular basis to various collaborators
  • Work with project team(s) to identify and assess project risks and mitigation plans, take a focused approach to leading project issues and risks
  • Lead and coordinate tasks to be carried out as part of analysis and implementation, and ensure they are completed in line with project timelines
  • Coordinate internal and external resources; including vendors, subject matter experts, IT, translation, etc. to ensure completion of projects
  • Direct, coordinate and/or lead implementation of solutions/changes including change management
  • Influence and work in collaboration with project teams and various internal collaborator groups on an ongoing basis

Role Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years previous work experience in strategy development, project management, change management, consulting, or related field.; Human Resources and retail experience  preferred
  • University degree or Post-secondary education
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and delivering projects in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong, presentation, facilitation,project management and analytical skills.
  • Ability to create compelling storyboarding and develop visually appealing decks that effectively communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, effectively communicate ideas and develop strong partnerships across Human Resources and Business Units in all levels in the organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage timelines to ensure delivery of project objectives.
  • Previous experience in developing detailed project plans using project management tools and methodologies considered an asset
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, challenging and constantly changing work environment
  • Strong technical skills (Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook).
