Job Description:

The Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing, reports to the Senior Director, Strategic Sourcing and responsible for the development and implementation of procurement strategies for a selected group of goods and services not for resale, on behalf of our internal clients. The specific spend portfolios are marketing and loyalty. The category responsibilities include oversight of moderate to large spend categories within the portfolio, share insights and strategies to secure the best market value through vendor interactions, program and process improvements, demand management, sourcing initiatives, risk mitigation and compliance. In this role, you will prepare and analyze the category sourcing projects, provide recommendations and facilitate both internal and external third party vendor interactions.
 

Accountabilities:

Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of strategic sourcing or procurement projects that result in the following:

Positive supplier relationships that achieve value contributions to the overall total cost ownership, Contract compliance, Continuous improvements and innovations and, Effective resolution of vendor performance or capability issues.

Build positive relationships with internal clients to inform

Strategic sourcing strategies and priorities, Research on changing market conditions for assigned categories, Applicability and application of advance sourcing methods, Technology, innovations or market trends that facilitate purchasing both domestically and globally

Supervise workload and provide staff supervision to ensure that work is done accurately, efficiently and in compliance with policies, procedures and standards as well as leading procurement practices

Role Requirements:

  • A university degree, preferably in Business, Engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience leading procurement or business strategies
  • Previous experience directly leading a team
  • Knowledge of Marketing and/or Loyalty related programs
  • Procurement certification is an advantage
  • Project Management certification is an advantage
  • Solid understanding of SAP, Ariba and Fieldglass
  • Proficient with MS Office (specifically Powerpoint and Excel)

This position requires an advanced level of initiative and judgment in order to coordinate and prioritize tasks, workload and projects. Courtesy, tact and diplomacy are required in the interactions and every day working relationships.

  • Advanced communication and negotiation skills at all levels including senior leadership to enable leading and influencing to goal-based outcomes.

  • Strong business sense along with a strong understanding of quality standards relative to procurement and contract administration.

  • Development of a wide range of sourcing and supplier performance management related skills and knowledge
  • Capable of successfully leading significant sourcing projects with limited management involvement
  • Competencies and knowledge of contract development
  • Excellent project management, problem solving and risk management skills
