You as a Millwright you :

Reporting to the Supervisor of Engineering & Building Services and in compliance with the occupational Health and Safety Acts and Regulations, and all other codes and regulations the principal duties of a Millwright are:

  • Troubleshoot repairs or replaces all types of mechanical equipment including but not limited to pumps, motors, fans, air handling units, kitchen equipment and throughout the facility, indoor and outdoor.
  • Troubleshoot repairs or replaces wheeled and patient care equipment such as different types of carts, wheelchair, stretcher, patient bed, patient lift, Balkan frame and any other hardware and structure as deemed necessary through out the facility including patient rooms and treatment areas.
  • Use hand tools, power tools and instruments to Inspect, calibrate, align and overhauls verity of mechanical and wheeled equipment
  • Replaces or repairs belt, pulley, bearing, gear, mechanical seal, impeller, shaft, radiator, coolant or hydraulic hoses and any other moving parts in any mechanical equipment/device.
  • Clean and lubricate moving parts as deemed necessary
  • Fabricate parts such as shaft, bushing, sleeves, connecting rod, etc. using lathe machine, milling machine, drill press, and other shop equipment.
  • Assist securing, moving or dismantling heavy structures, large size pipes, valves, caps on chillers and other major equipment, hangers, ductwork, etc..  Weld, braze, and solder as is necessary
  • Install new pump, fan, compressor and any other mechanical equipment according to the drawings, specification and instructions. Perform schedule preventive maintenance on all mechanical equipment

Is this the right role for you?

  • Valid Ontario Millwright Certificate or equivalent
  • 3 – 5 years of millwright (maintenance mechanic) experience
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Ability to work on height, using step ladder, scissor lift, telescopic boom, etc
  • Ability to lift up to 20Kg
  • Ability to read and interpreter schematics, mechanical drawing, instruction and O&M manual
  • Knowledge and ability to work with mechanical tools and devices safely
