Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) Network Services; This position will significantly contribute to identifying best-fit architectural solutions for one or more projects/initiatives for corporate data, voice and wifi; develop the design/standards/patterns of application(s), service(s) and/or platform(s), financial reviews, business cases, proposals and presentations, provide regular support/guidance/mentoring to project teams, business units, internal/external teams on design, coding, issue resolution, and execution. You will collaborate with vendors and peers in the industry to create and implement innovative high-quality solutions focused on our clients' business needs. Your focus will be on the end-to-end creation and management of IT network architecture models and their lower level components, specific to networking and security. You must interpret, use, and apply information contained within IT Network Architecture to inform a range of business improvement activities, particularly those involved in the design, development, enhancement and maintenance of IT network systems.

As an Enterprise Network Architect, you will be expected to ensure that the overall architecture is maintained in a coherent manner and that appropriate considerations are made for its security and quality. You are to ensure that the respective business, application, data and technology perspectives are in line with the organization’s technology and governance strategies, security policies and PCI/compliance standards.

There is significant interaction with multiple technology teams, Project Management Office and Executives who must be kept up to date on the status of our deliverables. You should demonstrate thought leadership, mentoring and aligning with up to date industry standards trends while influencing and persuading other groups and executives on approach, business cases and technical assessments.


Main Responsibilities

  • Leads in activities related to the design, development, and maintenance of the Network Architecture.
  • Researches overall solutions on the market for technical requirements and business needs.
  • Conducts and/or actively participates in meetings related to designated programs.
  • Advises and recommends architecture strategies, processes, and methodologies.
  • Recommends and participates in the analysis, evaluation and development of enterprise long-term strategic and operating plans to ensure that the IT objectives are consistent with the enterprise’s long-term business objectives.
  • Shares best practices, lessons learned and constantly updates the technical architecture requirements based on changing technologies, and knowledge related to recent, current and upcoming vendor products and solutions.
  • Participates in and manages Architecture Working Groups and acts as a mentor to peers & the team
  • Collaborates with all relevant parties in order to review the objectives and constraints of each solution and determine conformance with the existing network architecture standards. Recommends the most suitable technical architecture and defines the solution at a high level.
  • Identifies and recommends areas appropriate for further study and participates in any Proof of Concept projects required to thoroughly investigate architectural possibilities and strengthen arguments for their adoption.
  • Identifies implementation risks and analyses potential impact on the enterprise and on the achievement of scheduled objectives.
  • Recommends and participates in the design and implementation of IT service management standards, tools and methodologies.
  • Serve as escalation point and subject matter expert related to Engineering and Major Incidents/Operational issues.
  • Responsible for building business and financial cases for architectural directions including the total cost of ownership and the return on investment of any proposed architecture or solution.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation
  • Provide technical expertise and counsel to internal client by acting as a reference on technology, trends and processes related to own area
  • Coach/educate others within the team and other departments
  • Contribute and or lead Knowledge Transfer (KT) sessions with the team
  • Ensure migrations off legacy systems and platforms are executed without any service interruptions.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in infrastructure, analytical tools and techniques that can contribute to effective and efficient solution development/delivery
  • Effectively leverage cloud and hybrid cloud technologies and platforms
  • Provide expertise in automation and orchestration of network deliverables.
  • Interact with clients, business units, project teams, technology teams and executives to provide quality service/solutions consistent with objectives and client requirements
  • Provide expertise and advice in the areas of design, planning, analysis, implementation, testing and/or problem resolution

  • Identify opportunities spanning technical disciplines across product line and/or services. Recognized as a lead authority on key technology area. Identifies important emerging technologies, leads in analysis of their impact. Conceives and is instrumental in creating new projects or programs. Sustained and consistent contribution at the company services level. May include significant contributions to projects, processes, or business opportunities.

Focus Areas and Specialties:

This role focuses in the Applied Networking aspects of Enterprise architecture. Specifically, the ideal candidate should be skilled in the following:

  • Data, Voice, Wifi, Security networks and virtualized networking
  • LAN/WAN technologies including WAN acceleration and SDWAN
  • Cybersecurity concepts including firewalls, IPS, Proxy servers and overall security-minded architectures
  • ADC – Application Delivery and Control (F5 LTM, GTM, ASM, APM, Silverline Preferred)
  • DNS, DHCP, and IP address management (Infoblox Preferred)
  • Datacenter technologies, SDN and enterprise routing/switching
  • Experience with cloud technologies, migration and adoption – Azure and GCP
  • Deployment, Management and administration of large-scale enterprise architecture, solutioning and design
  • Practical hands-on experience with multi-vendor Network Equipment and a variety of Virtualization Platforms
  • Practical hands-on experience with Network Automation, Scripts, Tools
  • Experience with Cisco CLI and Cisco implementation and administration
  • Enterprise experience with Design, Implementation, Troubleshooting
  • Extensive experience with Packet Analyzers and Network Performance troubleshooting
  • Customer support, implementation and troubleshooting of Application Delivery, DNS, TCP/IP and DDI challenges
  • Experience with scripting and coding using Linux, BASH, TMSH, Python, Ansible
  • Experience with Cisco ACI implementation, administration, policies and Playbooks
  • Experience with Automation and Orchestration using API’s, Ansible, Terraform
  • Hands on experience leading all stages of system development efforts including requirement gathering, definition, design, architecture, testing and support
  • Administration of large, multiple-site and multi- tenant environments
  • Implementation, Integration, Solution Consulting, Network Design, Cyber Security, IoT, Cloud Architecture, SDN and Virtualization
  • Experience working with auditors and resolving audit findings
  • Experience with PCI, DISA
  • Thorough understanding of OSI layers.
  • Strong knowledge of SSL and SSL protocols.


The following certifications/knowledge would be an asset:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Post-secondary education (degree or diploma) in a related field or related experience
  • CCIE – written and lab or equivalent experience
  • F5 Certified Administrator, F5 Certified Technology Specialist
  • DNS BIND Certification
  • Scripting Knowledge – Ansible, Python, IaC, CI/CD

Other Requirements

  • Industry experience – minimum 10 to 15 years, with 3-5 years of experience at the Master level
