Senior Analyst, Metadata Management, Brampton, ON

As we strive to become a data-driven organization, the Senior Analyst in the Metadata Management team, will be taking the lead in advocating for our data governance framework, building support processes and working with leading industry tools to entrench robust data governance controls into the organization. Collaborating with Business Stakeholders across all lines of business, this role will play a pivot role in understanding key data ensuring it is detailed for broad use in the organization. Key to the role will also be supporting the development, socialization and reporting of key data metrics. The scope of engagements will be related to various subject areas including master data, finance, healthcare, operational performance, loyalty, and inventory among others.

What You'll Do:

  • Design and develop data glossaries and standards using world-class tools and technology
  • Run and maintain metadata repositories (Axon and Enterprise Data Catalog)
  • Champion the value of Key Data Elements, Data Ownership and the importance of Metadata Management to key business partners
  • Review solutions for adherence to data and reporting standards as part of production processes
  • Work with business to flag consent-related, sensitive and critical data elements

What You Bring:

  • 4-6 years' experience in a field related to information management strongly preferred especially in a highly regulated industry (e.g. Banking, Healthcare)
  • Post-secondary education in Information Management, Records Management, Data Management, Communications, Business or related field of study degree preferred
  • Experience with Metadata Management Principles & Tools is required (e.g. Informatica Axon, Enterprise Data Catalogue, Collibra) and experience with data platforms is an asset (e.g. Google Cloud Platform, MicroStrategy, QlikView, Teradata, Microsoft Azure, SQL)
  • Ability to produce a variety of business documents (including standards) that demonstrate command of language, clarity of thought, and orderliness of presentation
  • Tenacious approach to drive new ideas with strong communication skills
