Regional Operations is the sustaining business owner and the liaison between Canadian Tire Corporation and the Third Party Logistics (3PL) facility operators, and is responsible for ensuring operational effectiveness of the 3PL DCs and the Returns Centre. The Regional Operations Team supports the 3PLs in physical and process improvements to help them meet and exceed service level and budget targets.

Regional Operations works closely with the 3PLs and internal groups including Non-Merch Procurement, the Operations Planning Centre, Domestic and International Transportation, IT, Toronto Ops, and Finance to ensure 3PL's daily operations are effectively executed and the contract appropriately managed.

To help define where and how we work, CTC has introduced Hybrid Workplace Personas. While each role fits into a different persona category, this may evolve as employees progress in their career or business needs change. The Team Lead, Regional Operations position is categorized as a Connector, which means that the incumbent will be working with a variety of colleagues and partners to achieve business outcomes that require a mixed use of virtual and CTC campus presence.

What you’ll do

  • Work closely on a daily basis with 3PL management and internal groups to resolve immediate or upcoming issues
  • Monitor weekly performance reporting to understand variances in order to manage risk
  • Act as a change agent and driver for identified gaps in current processes and procedures
  • Support the 3PLs in developing seasonal plans for throughput that are consistent with the annual budget and Capacity Planning strategies
  • Support contract and budget negotiations with 3PLs for Montreal DC, Calgary DC and Returns Centre
  • Analyze business requirements and contribute to the planning, design and implementation of initiatives and projects that impact the 3PL facilities
  • Provide support, coaching and mentoring to a team of analysts
  • Travel to regional operations sites as required

What you bring

  • Degree in Applied Science, Business, Engineering or similar discipline
  • 3-5 years of related supply chain experience with superior knowledge in more than one specialized business area such as Logistics, Operations Planning, Transportation, Distribution Operations
  • Strong cross-functional knowledge of Canadian Tire Distribution, Logistics and Transportation is an asset
  • Experience in Lean Methodologies (Six Sigma)
  • Working knowledge of Canadian Tire technologies including DCCS, PPA tables, AOM and YardSmart
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset
