The Facility Leader is responsible for the co-ordination and assignment of all Divisional activities related to facility operations and ensuring that all timing schedules and trades’ regulations are adhered to. The Facility Leader supports Leadership and Facility personnel by acting as liaison in matters regarding policy application, employee relations, and continuous improvement for processes and productivity. This position carries direct and/or indirect leadership responsibility.
**The successful candidate for this role will work at our new Magna Structures Heart Lake facility located in Brampton, ON**
• Maintain all Facility equipment including, compressors, chillers, HVAC units, exhaust & supply fans
• Establishes and maintains effective communications/interaction with all Departments, including but not limited to engineering, quality assurance, production, HR and material control support groups in order to achieve established targets
• Plans and directs the utilization and use of all equipment and manpower to achieve the most effective results. Manpower and equipment utilization are meeting or exceeding expected results/targets
• Co-ordinates preventative maintenance with maintenance technical group and production planning
• Orders materials required for repair, modification, installation, and maintenance of equipment. Abides by the division’s Purchasing Policy
• Participates in quotations and follows up related to new projects
• Assigns competent trade and follows up with inter-department requests
• Provides direction and oversees that contractors adhere to plant policies and procedures
• Manages maintenance program/database ensuring accurate data is entered to determine proactive courses of action
• Supports daily PM assignments, does follow-up and monitors PM schedule
• Regularly monitors scoreboards to observe where issues are occurring, and that maintenance offers assistance and support to production team members; Responds to Andon based on the escalation process, as required
• Quality issues or concerns within their area of responsibility are dealt with by applying root cause analysis, in an effective manner.
• Assists with repair, modification, and installation activities with other maintenance personnel (when required).
• Participates in the design and/or redesign of new or used equipment.
• Participates in the APQP process related to new product.
• Works with employee production team to minimize/reduce waste to achieve company objectives. Efforts towards minimizing/reducing waste shows a reduction in Departmental KPI’s.
• Participates in the development of the department action plan and leads their team to achieve strategic goals and continuous improvement objectives in alignment with the business plan.
• Prepares and supports the budget planning process and takes responsibility to meet the financial targets. Follows budget requirements for department labour and spending. Follows spending policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Promotes/recommends continuous improvement suggestions including environment, people, processes and equipment/machinery.
• Assists in the development of procedures and methods which improve Safety, Quality, Timing, Cost and Motivation.
• Effectively builds and fosters high performing teams by ensuring teamwork within their area
• Conducts investigations into all non-conformance to Company polices/procedures/rules/regulations and applies the applicable corrective action.
• Conducts performance reviews informally or formally as required and ensures performance reviews are completed for all employees.
• Ensures employees are trained or certified, as required and participates in training programs as required.
• Ensures suppliers are performing work safely while in their work areas/zones when applicable.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory/leadership experience
• Ability to work well in a fast paced environment and with a variable workload
• Strong organizational, time management, planning, written, computer and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrates a maturity of judgement, leadership skills, attention to detail and exceptional organizational, listening, Communication, and presentation skills in all aspects of the job function
• Excellent math skills with the ability to apply to cost and analyse data
• Ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment in order to meet customer requirements
• Must be able to interact effectively with other team members
• Able to appreciate and maintain proper level of confidentiality
