• Ensure a good relationship is kept with the customer at all times, and understand the customer requirements
• Ensure successful launch and execution of multiple tooling programs simultaneously – timing, quality, cost
• Manage the customers’ expectations through foresight and suggestion
• Attend daily production meetings to communicate issues to cross functional team and update APQP weekly
• Responsible to ensure open and effective communications to cross function team including timing and standards
• Host kick-off meetings, design reviews and quality reviews to achieve clear direction with cross functional team
• Responsible for maintaining “DQEP”, internal timing charts as well as electronic job folders on a daily basis
• Manage customer product data, and support engineering with die processing/simulations (FEA)
• Support the Purchasing, Machining and Tooling teams to find resolutions to critical issues
• Support the Sales team in quoting Engineering Changes and identifying Invoicing Milestones
• Support the Finance team in reporting monthly cost estimations per program until completion
• Support and participate in all Continuous Improvement projects (5S, Lean Manufacturing, TPS, 4DX).
• Communicate with and manage projects through suppliers considered outsource from Massiv Die Form
• Ensure all dies are signed off officially by the customer, and the exit strategy during “Home Line” commissioning is professional and successful, as well as receive feedback
• Manage conflict, multi-tasking, prioritize deadlines
• Responsible to carry out duties for Health & Safety, Lock Out, and Environment in accordance with the OHSA and Environmental Agreement
• Perform other reasonable duties as required
• Post-secondary training in Tool & Die or Mechanical Engineering with minimum 2 years relevant work experience in Manufacturing Industry
• Finance basics – RFQ, Quotation, Requisition, LOI, PO, Invoice Milestones, etc.
• Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, Project
• Basic Catia, Spinfire, SMIRT, UG – able to use and understand CAD
• GD&T, CMM/white light dimensional report interpretation
• Soft Skills – communication, organization, team work, punctuality, critical thinking, willing to learn
• Comfortable giving technical presentations or hosting meetings/conferences (WebEx, etc)
• Interest in Continuous Improvement Suggestion Program
• All prescribed Health & Safety Training as outlined in the HR Training Matrix, WHMIS, Fire Extinguisher
• Office environment on day shift – 10 hours per day Mon-Fri 7:00AM start
• Interaction on shop floor with respective cross functional team members
• Company mobile phone and laptop computer
• Local and/or international overnight travel is required for extended periods of time
• Working with colleagues in China, Europe and Mexico using foreign language and different time zones
• SA approved safety boots (employee provided) and safety glasses (employer provided)
