Tool & Die Apprentice

Role Summary

This position is for Massiv Die-Form, a division of Cosma International.

Cosma International, an operating unit of Magna International, is one of the world‘s premier global automotive suppliers providing a comprehensive range of body, chassis, and engineering solutions to our customers. Massiv Die-Form, a division of Magna International, designs and builds medium to large cast automotive and hot stamping dies. Massiv Die-Form is proudly committed to manufacture products of the highest quality, reliability, maintainability and durability for the global automotive market through skilled and dedicated people focused on total customer satisfaction, ongoing protection of the environment and the profitable well being of our company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete tasks and assignments within the trade under the direction of a Tool & Die Maker.
  • Complete theoretical training as per government regulation and pass required exams.
  • Complete training standards as per government guidelines.
  • Be familiar and comply with Massiv Die-Form’s Apprenticeship Program Policy & Procedures Guideline.
  • Responsible for applicable QEMS policies, procedures and work instructions.
  • Assist toolmakers in production run.
  • Responsible to carry out duties for Health, Safety, and Environment in accordance with the HS&E Agreement for Employees – Addendum
  • Perform other reasonable duties as required and assigned.
Key Qualifications/Requirements

⦁    Good communication skills, attendance, and performance.
⦁    Mechanical aptitude.
⦁    Previous tooling/machine shop experience an asset.
⦁    Grade 12 education required (proof must be provided at time of application).
⦁    Crane/forklift experience an asset.

Please note: This is a work and study program, therefore all candidates must either have Permanent Residency Status or be a Canadian Citizen in order to qualify.

All interested candidates will need to successfully pass the Apprenticeship Testing in order to be accepted into the Apprenticeship Program.
