Role Summary

The Tool & Die Maker is primarily responsible to service, maintain, and test new or existing assembly tooling. This position will support production through troubleshooting problems and complete quality improvements as required to maintain part standards.

**The successful candidate for this role will work at our new Magna Structures Heart Lake facility located in Brampton, ON**

Key Responsibilities
  • Have the understanding and knowledge of all equipment and machinery related to Tool & Die Making
  • Ability to build new tooling and fixtures, without supervision
  • Ability to try out new tooling and engineering changes without supervision
  • Fully conversant with SPC
  • Meet scheduled dates set by Maintenance Supervisor
  • Carry a company supplied communication device during scheduled shift to ensure support for production
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, both in the tools and processes
  • Good interpersonal skills and results oriented
  • Train apprentices in all aspects of Tool & Die Making and safety
  • Exemplary attitude towards housekeeping, safety, company policies and fellow Employees,
  • Make educated decisions based on production demands, and divisions best interest
  • Lean Manufacturing and 5S concepts awareness and adherence
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and work place safety
  • Other duties as may be required
Key Qualifications/Requirements
  • Licensed Tool & Die maker
  • 5 years of Tool Room experience
  • Working knowledge of CNC machines & programming
  • Working knowledge of Assembly tooling
  • A working knowledge (written & verbal) of both English and Mathematics
  • Physically capable of performing the essential duties of the job
  • Ability to perform all assigned tasks related to Tool & Die
  • Working in a timely manner while maintaining quality standards
  • Flexible on work hours and shifts
  • Proficient in the use of all Toolroom equipment and related measuring equipment
