Major Responsibilities Interpret die layouts and die designs and translate design intent into required manufacturing process to complete a lineup of automotive stamping tools.Create/modify surfaces to accommodate spring back and surface changes by using morphing and/or surfacing tools on CAD systems.Determine machining process and define areas of dies to be machined.Provide technical support to Machining, Fitting, and Engineering Departments throughout the die manufacturing process.Maintain documentation record of complete die program.Prepare reports and communicate all required information to appropriate parties as required or applicable.Responsible for applicable QMS policies, procedures and work instructions.Perform other reasonable duties as required and assigned.Responsible to carry out duties for Health, Safety, and Environment in accordance with the HS&E Agreement for Employees
– Addendum Knowledge and Education Completion of degree or certificate program in Technical/Mechanical Engineering Program or equivalent Work Experience Knowledge of automotive sheet metal stampingFull working knowledge of die-surfacing using Catia, or equivalent softwareKnowledge of CAM, CNC machining and die making methods an assetExperience in reverse engineering from scan meshes (STL data) considered an assetGood communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills requiredAbility to interpret blueprints or die process & solid designs required.Ability to work independently with minimum supervisionGood communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills required.

Work Environment Office Environment.
