Executive Sales Manager

SSI Schaefer System Int. Ltd.

This is a Contract position in Brampton, ON posted January 13, 2022.

Position Description: As Executive Sales Manager in Canada, your primary objective will be to build and develop the Canadian sales team to grow sales revenue and market share in Canada. You will report to the Managing Director of Canada and the North American Vice President of Sales. You will work with North American Market Sector Leads and their global Business Unit counterparts to define and execute business plans to achieve growth objectives. It is a cross-functional role requiring collaboration with internal stakeholders (sales, engineering, marketing, customer service and IT) and strategic positioning with external enablers (industry partners, consultants, and other influencers). In this role, you will:

  • Develop a growth strategy and business plan for the Canadian market in collaboration with the North American Market Sector leads and the North American Director of Business Development.
    • Responsibility for Canada-specific Business Development activities
    • There are 6 defined market sectors: Fashion, Food & Beverage, Industry, Healthcare & Cosmetics, and (Retail/Wholesale + Food Retail, combined into one sector). Business development will be selective and methodical, not across all sectors at once.
  • Hire, train and support members of the Canadian sales team that are cross-functionally connected to the NAM sales organization.
    • Sales Managers
    • Application Engineer (functionally, engineers will also be a part of the NAM Applications group to receive the training, support, and workload balancing they need)
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales to create messaging content and bring awareness of Schaefer’s competitive offerings to the market.
  • Proactively engage with consultants, customers, partners, and other influencers to promote Schaefer’s capabilities and competitive offerings, specifically with the intent of generating targeted leads.
  • Represent SSI Schaefer in assigned sales activities such as trade shows and other engagements.
  • Participate in key customer presentations, providing leadership support to the sales process when needed.
  • Work with the Director of Business Development to perform gap analysis of market needs relative to Schaefer capabilities and competitive offerings in the Canadian market. Report on gap analysis and provide input to executive management and global innovations group.

Requirements & Skill Sets:

  • Collaborative leadership experience in a cross-functional role
  • Experience with business development activities including market analysis and business plans
  • Knowledge of industry-leading technologies and solutions, especially within the Canadian market, in order to perform meaningful gap analysis and collaborate with internal stakeholders and partners
  • Logistics operations knowledge; understanding of warehouse processes and material flows
  • Experience defining and implementing work flow processes
  • Experience with multi-national organizations
  • Experience leading presentations and discussions with industry consultants and other influencers
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to promote your ideas effectively
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to distill information to its most relevant content
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to cultivate good working relationships
  • Must be able to travel regularly as needed for internal and external workshops, including overseas
