Production – Supervisor

Pre Con

This is a Full-time position in Brampton, ON posted July 12, 2019.

Overview Reporting to the Plant Superintendent, the Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day function of safety , quality and efficiency while directing and supporting their team in precast production operations at our Brampton facility.

Details Promote Pre-Con’s Safety1 st vision and culture Ensure teams are operating at optimal level and volume KPIs are being met.

The Supervisor coaches and mentors direct reports, manages labour resources (hiring, training & development) and holds team accountable for performance.

Leads by example, wears PPE, ensures open lines of communication around safety.

Develops and executes effective housekeeping.

Maximizes quality and productivity by understanding job standards for each function and evaluating performance variances to identify root cause and corrective action.

Creates a culture of teamwork by providing opportunities to build trust and accountability.

Listens to his/her team and encourages feedback Communicates any changes to company policy/procedures to staff and ensures the information flows through the teams.

Manages issues as they are escalated.

Evaluates and communicates recommendations for change.

Ensure inventory integrity.

Perform timely reconciliations on work orders.

Research and resolve discrepancies as necessary.

Implement and actively ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Responsible for promoting and leading Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Perform other tasks as assigned.

What we’re looking for A Great Attitude Demonstrated situational leadership and coaching skills.

Solid understanding of technical drawings and architectural design.

Good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in fast paced environment.

– ‘get it done’ attitude.

Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple production projects at the same time.

Effective communication skills (written & verbal).

Standard office computer skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) etc.

Previous experience successfully managing in a unionized/labour environment.

Basic knowledge or awareness of Lean manufacturing concepts Assets Experience in precast/Ready Mix/Construction/Building Materials.

CPCI/PCI/ACI certification Post
– Secondary Education with a technical focus in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
